Virginia DMV’s Highway Safety Office (HSO) has conducted thorough research into distraction-related crash data to identify recurring patterns. Our findings reveal that drivers aged between 21 and 35 are the most frequently engaged in distracted driving crashes. Notably, these occurrences are most prevalent in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Henrico County, Richmond City, Prince William County, Norfolk City and Virginia Beach City.
To enhance awareness and reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities caused by distracted driving, the HSO has curated a comprehensive list of resources for anyone to share on their social media accounts. This toolkit serves as a central resource for materials on distracted driving aimed at educating Virginia communities about the dangers of distracted driving and providing guidance on how to prevent such behaviors while driving.
