A vehicle history provides you with a record of your vehicle's previous ownership. It will show you the titling transactions for your vehicle but will not include the names of previous owners.
To obtain a vehicle history, submit a written request to:

In your request, provide the vehicle make, year, title number and vehicle identification number. This information can be found on your vehicle registration card and certificate of title.
Include a check for $8 to cover the research fee. This non-refundable fee covers the cost of retrieving and providing the first official document. If you are requesting additional documents, DMV will bill you $3 per each additional document.
Note: Vehicle title documents OVER ten years old are not available.
