An online driver training school is a driver training school offering online driver education courses to individuals seeking to obtain a license to operate motor vehicles. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is responsible for the licensing and oversight of online driver training schools. Our objective is to ensure that these schools provide high quality education in a safe and secure learning environment.
Individuals of all ages may elect to take an online driver education course through a DMV-licensed online driving school.
Prerequisites
Before you can be licensed to offer an online driver training course, you must:

- Have desks and chairs, working computer(s) with an internet connection, a working printer and working electrical outlets at each test site
- Have a private internet connection, not public wi-fi, at each test site
DMV will conduct an on-site pre-licensing inspection of the testing sites to ensure that all requirements have been met.
