Introduction
You may pay any outstanding fee owed to DMV online. Payment of these fees is the first step in having your driving and registration privileges reinstated. There may be additional requirements to meet to fully restore your ability to drive and register a vehicle in Virginia. Be sure to check your Compliance Summary for details.
This transaction is not available to motor carrier customers.

What You'll Need
Payment information. Options include:
- Credit cards displaying the Discover, MasterCard, VISA or American Express logo
- Debit card displaying the MasterCard or VISA logo
- Bank and checking account information to allow DMV to electronically withdraw funds from your checking account
Explanation of Fees
Reinstatement Fee - a payment required by law to reinstate the privilege to operate and register a motor vehicle in Virginia following a suspension
Statutory or Noncompliance Fee - a payment required by law to operate or permit the operation of an uninsured motor vehicle on highways
Multiple Order Fee - a $5 fee required by law, in addition to the reinstatement fee, for each second and subsequent suspension or revocation order in effect when reinstating driving privileges
Important
A clearance letter may be provided to customers who have satisfied the requirement in Virginia to reinstate their driving privileges. Other states may require a clearance letter before licensure.
