Use this transaction to prove that you have insurance for your vehicle(s).
Introduction
DMV verifies that motor vehicles are properly insured by comparing owner and vehicle identification information on file at DMV with liability information provided by insurance carriers. If no insurance coverage is found, the owner is required to provide policy information to DMV.
If you received an Insurance Verification Inquiry or Order of Suspension from DMV, see instructions for more information.
Note: If your Insurance Order of Suspension is effective (meaning your license is already suspended), you are NOT eligible to submit insurance information online to DMV. See these instructions for "I received an Order of Suspension and the effective date is in the past" for next steps.
What You'll Need
Be sure to have your insurance company name and policy number exactly as they appear on your insurance policy.
You will need to enter your title number and the last 4 digits of your vehicle identification number (VIN), found on your insurance verification inquiry letter or vehicle registration card.
