SCOTTSVILLE - The Town of Scottsville will close its DMV Select office on Thursday, June 22.
The town council voted in May to not renew its contract with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to provide vehicle services, such as titling and registration, to local residents. Scottsville has offered DMV Select service since 2021.
"We are sorry to see this partnership come to a close, but are thankful to the Town of Scottsville for its service to DMV customers," said DMV Commissioner Gerald Lackey.
DMV Select offices, operated primarily by contracted local governments, conduct mostly vehicle-related transactions and supplement the agency's 75 customer service centers. DMV has 60 Select offices in the state.
In addition to 50+ services available at dmv.virginia.gov, customers have other convenient options for service in the area including:
- Palmyra DMV Select: 13027 James Madison Highway, Palmyra, VA 22963
- Charlottesville DMV Select: 605 East Main Street, A120, Charlottesville, VA 22902
- Charlottesville DMV Customer Service Center: 2055 Abbey Road, Charlottesville, VA 22911-3540
